RRB Radio Makes eBayInkBlog’s Favorite Podcasts List

Late in January I get an update of an eBayInkBlog post, and a tweet from RBH, Richard Brewer-Hay to check it out.  So I click through and was surprised to find my podcast mentioned on eBayInkBlog’s Favorite Podcasts!  The River the Ranch and the Bay (aka RRB Radio) makes the list!

Screenshot of eBayInkBlog Richard Brewer-Hay Corporate Blog Post I cannot tell you how honored I am to be mentioned among only four other podcasts, number one being eBay Radio, with Jim Griffith (Griff) and Lee Mirabal!  Wooohoooooo!  Also on this list is John Lawson, of ColderICE, a ecommerce podcaster/blogger, and of course, Dave White, Host of eBay and Beyond, Basics to Business, with whom I co-host w/Kat Simpson on Monday’s 12 noon Central time.

RBH has joined our podcast on more than a few occasions and is a favorite guest.  Richard also frequents our live chat room on TalkShoe of both eBay & Beyond and RRB Radio!  He adds insights, asks questions, and contributes when he can join us.

On April 2, 2010 eBayInkBlog celebrated its second birthday and I’d like to personally thank RBH for a great blog, complete with his insights, honesty, and integrity.  eBay Ink brought eBay into the 21st century with the latest news and happenings at eBay, his “5 minutes with,…” video segments, and behind the scenes interviews.  He has set the standard for corporate social media savvy, and has become quite the corporate blogger rock star! You can always find Richard blogging or tweeting about what’s going on at eBay at eBayInkBlog.com.  Thank you again for your mention of RRB Radio on eBay Ink!  I hope to see you in our chat room again real soon.  You are welcome to join us any time.

Jen Cano of Hammertap on RRB Radio Weds 12-16-09 8 pm ET

Jen Cano of Hammertap joined The River the Ranch and the Bay (RRB Radio) with “What’s Hot on eBay” and updates on where Zhu Zhu pet sales are now! This was a great show!  Jen gave us an update on the famous, or should I say infamous, Zhu Zhu Pets, the adorable toy hamsters elusive to buyers in local stores as eBayers raked shelves and sold them on eBay.  These darling creatures even made it on eBayInkBlog.com, as posted 12-09-09, It’s a Hamster Holiday, complete with a heat map, a visual indicator of all U.S.-based transactions that occurred on eBay from November 1 to November 30, 2009.  After a few hamster giggles, Jen gives RRB Radio listeners research information on bibles that is money in the bank!  Jen’s tips include, what bibles are selling for the most money, what features to  look for, what is the average sell through rate (STR) for bibles on eBay, and so much more.  Finally she gives tips for selling depression glass and salt and pepper shakers, and what color glass sells the best.  We have had the honor of having Jen Cano on RRB Radio several times in recent months, be sure to check out the archives of 11-11-09 and 11-18-09 for  more research tips, and how important research is to selling items on eBay!  Click here to listen to this entire show of 12-16-09, get some giggles and a lot of great info!

EJ Bantz & Dan on IMPORTING from CHINA as product sourcing!

EJ Bantz is a full-time eBay seller and carries many products he imports from China. n686272011_5727His success is great and only eclipsed by his willingness to share with others and desire to see others succeed as well. The best place to find EJ is on his new PORTAL site EJBantz.com or his facebook page where I find him often, LOL

I have truly enjoyed getting to know EJ through the eBay Radio Super-Secret-Chat-Board and it was wonderful to meet in person at the eBay Radio Vegas Convention! Was a lot of fun. EJ is so willing to share – and we just didn’t have enough time to thoroughly pick his brain in Vegas so we plan to do that tonight!

Dan is the owner of Quality Shipping Supplies (formerly LabelDog shipping supplies) – where I’ve been purchasing most of my shipping labels for a while now.

One of Dan’s new partners is Jeff Plitt of Plitt International, and he has written a book on our subject.

Jeff ‘s company specializes in providing expertise to people and companies, large and small, that want to take advantage of the opportunities in China.
After many years of experience working with the Chinese, Jeff decided to write a book, Sourcing From China, a Guide for Small to Medium Businesses, detailing the process from beginning to end.
Jeff talks about everything from deciding if China is right for you, to finding factories, to negotiating prices, to sampling, to placing orders, to getting the product through customs, to finally getting it to your warehouse.  Skid quantities, container quantities, shipload quantities, Jeff walks you through the process. You can purchase the book on Dan’s site Quality Shipping Supplies,
So the plan for tonight is to open up the floor and let YOU ask the experts. Have you ever considered importing? or thought about it? here is your chance to ask your questions!

This post was just forwarded to me by a friend:

The Future of the The Auction Rebel Website
Posted: 05 Jul 2009 09:50 PM PDT
Hello all, this is Gary’s son Mike. I have been trying figure out everything dad had going on online and it seems as though there were a few projects in the works but this was his baby that he tended to every day.MMPBR125x125
For the short term, 1 or 2 months, this site and the garage sale challenge site will remain up and running. Please feel free to use the forums and continue with your own garage sale challenge.
The long term has yet to be decided, I know that I am no auction rebel and am sure that all of you would fit that title more then me. Therefore I would like your feedback, thoughts, ideas about what the fate of theaucitonrebel.com should be. Is the site useful as is or does the information get outdated like dad’s computer that I’m typing this on? No idea is a bad idea, well except if you suggest I take it over, we will all go broke then since I don’t have dad’s eye for buying the 25 cent item at a garage sale that will sell for hundreds or more online.
I look forward to hearing your ideas and thoughts.
Thanks,
Mike Hendrickson

Many of us were saddened last week when we heard of the passing of ‘The Auction Rebel’ from our midst. This stark reminder of our own mortality happens more and more frequently, it seems, as we age. It started me thinking, again, about the ‘end plan’ I have for my business. A wonderful Mentor, Janelle Elms, first brought this concept to my thoughts and I’ve returned to it again & again. Right now the practical matters are foremost in my mind. I guess I don’t want to leave these type of decisions to my family to decide while they are dealing with other pressing matters. . . . . although from the above I can only say that Gary’s son seems to be right on top of everything and handling it wonderfully.  What are your thoughts? What are your plans? NONE of us are guaranteed tomorrow.
